Invitation
The Organizing Committee and the KIER are pleased to announce that the 10th Korea-China Workshop on Clean Energy Technology will be held from August 31 to September 3, 2014 at the Korea Science and Technology Center in Seoul, Korea.
In the 21st century, Korea and China will cooperate with each other to solve the environmental problems and to cope with the Climate Change Convention. The workshop will present an in-depth update of new and advanced technologies for clean energy. We wish to extend a cordial invitation to those who are interested in clean energy related issues, research, development and commercialization.
Topics of interest
The workshop is aimed at promoting the fundamental and applied studies of Clean Energy Technology. We organized forum about interesting issues on the first day of workshop. The major topics of the workshop will be:
o Fine particulates and emissions control
o CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage)
o Clean coal conversion
o Low-rank coal utilization
o Gasification
o Efficiency improvement of power plant
o Energy efficiency and saving technologies
o Other clean energy
Special Forum and Student Sessions
The special forum will be organized with recent hot topics which are fine particulates in the air, Carbon capture utilization and storage, coal upgrading and synthetic fuels from coal gasification. Eminent speakers and panels will be invited. Student sessions will be organized in which best student presentations will be selected.

Special Information
There will be an Environment & Energy Tech 2014 (http://www.entechkorea.net/eng/index.php) from August 27 to August 29, 2014 at BEXCO, Busan. Also, Korea International Filtration & Separation Technology Exhibition (http://www.kofis.org/eng/main/main.php) from September 2 to September 4 at KINTEX, Seoul. The participants can enjoy the three big conferences in series.
Venue
The workshop will be held at Korea Science and Technology Center near Gangnam station of subway #2 in Seoul.
Abstract submission
Attendees who wish to have their papers considered for presentation at the workshop should submit a one-page abstract via email (mwseo82@kier.re.kr) before August 10, 2014. A template for abstract can be found in the attached file.
Registration
Registration fee includes the workshop proceeding book, social events, and local tour. Fees are classified as follows depending on attendance of local tour:
KRW 300,000 for attendees who wish to attend technical tour
KRW 200,000 for attendees who do not wish to attend technical tour
KRW 100,000 (Approx RMB 615.9) for students regardless of technical tour
Location and accommodation
Seoul
Seoul is the capital of Korea with over 600 years of history. It is the heart of Korea’s culture and education as well as politics and economics. Seoul is home to many old historic sites like Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces, and places of traditional culture like Bukchon Hanok Village, Insa-dong, and Namdaemun Market. The shopping and entertainment districts of Myeongdong and Apgujeong, and Asia's largest underground shopping center COEX Mall also draw a large number of tourists every year. With geological and environmental benefit, Seoul will provide the ideal setting for the 10th Korea-China Clean Energy Workshop.
Technical tour
The workshop attendees will have a chance to visit Gangnam resource recovery facility located in Gangnamgu, Seoul. The detailed information will be given later.
